Stay

Stay with me

What would I like to hear, when I am lost deep down in the depths of my chasm?

Whatever demons or wars you may be fighting right now, please stay.

Stay with me. I am in there too — unheard, unseen.

If you lost your light and are fumbling in the darkness of your life, please stay,
stay with us, because we are there too.

You are not alone, not the only one in this place. A living hell without fire, without
the theater of tormented souls, just the silent void of your loneliness and
hopelessness.

And still, I beg you: please stay.

There were and are so many more.

Those who yielded to the dark, and those who survived.

And countless more still in there, lost just like you; unseen, unheard,
misunderstood, down in nothingness, robbed even of their own pain.

And maybe if you stay a little longer, you’ll see that the weight pulling you down comes
from your back. And you’ll see the first colors of your wings.

These are the words I would like to hear even as a whisper, a prayer of One or Legions.

A silver thread of consciousness, and a fragile thread of hope to hold on to.

Oh, and don’t get me wrong — to stay — is no small thing.

To get up and stand again with your new weight and with scars that never truly fade. Wings were never meant to come without scars.

Nobody ever said that learning to fly would be easy.
